2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This year’s conference theme, “Gateway to Equity,” explores inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs, in living a fair, just, and balanced life. Today, there is enormous pressure to focus on state testing, or just teach to IEP goals. Content instruction that is based on common core standards seems to have taken a back seat. Teacher can use a variety of AT tools in every step of great instruction. The Anticipatory Set establishes interest and excitement. The Body of the lesson focuses on direct or whole group instruction. The Conclusion is an opportunity for progress monitoring. Certificated staff are required to teach instructional portions of lessons while paraprofessionals assist students with individual work, practice, and application activities. This workshop will reintroduce the steps of lesson delivery, identify the role of classroom team members in instructional process and illustrate the use of AT in each step of the lesson. . Participants will 1. Define 8 steps of lesson delivery 2. Identify 3 ways to incorporate AT into lesson delivery 3. Explain 3 /duties roles of classroom professionals in lesson delivery
